Forgiveness Journey Documentary Give-Away

During the 7000 mile Wellbriety Journey for Forgiveness (May 15-June 24, 2009), White Bison staff shot over 183 hours of video at the sites 24 historical boarding schools..  There are individual stories of the boarding school experience, stories about the various sites, and presentations by the Elders on the importance of forgiveness and its role in healing.

Our purpose in doing this was to raise the awareness of the role that the Boarding School era had on the current emotional, behavioral and social issues experienced by Native Americans and the role of forgiving the unforgivable in healing.

These videos are being edited into three documentaries: 

(1) the story (click to see trailer) of the Journey itself;

(2) stories about the impact of the boarding schools on people’s lives;

(3) what the Elders say about the importance of forgiveness in getting past the legacy of intergenerational and historical trauma. 

The first of the three documentaries will be completed around Christmas and distributed through Youtube and on DVD as a gift to the Native American community.   Your donations are needed to help us pay for the editing and distribution of all three of the documentaries.
